The A20NFT in the NEVS 9-3 and the 2011 9-5 is a more powerful engine than the B207 in the 2011 9-3. 220hp vs 210hp. Can't recall the torque ratings. The A20NFT also uses a twin scroll turbo which provides quicker acceleration from a dead stop. My 2010 9-3X has the B207, my 2011 has the A20NFT, both with automatic transmissions. Perhaps the XWD does slow down the 9-3X a bit but the difference in performance between the two cars is just as dramatic as your experience with the NEVS 9-3.
