I stand by my comments about the Continentals as equipped on the NG 9-5. It is by far the most finicky about proper tires of any car I have ever owned. The Continentals may be perfectly fine on other cars (like the Verano) but on the 9-5 they are bad news.
In my four years of ownership I've run Michelin Alpin Sport, Michelin Pilot Super Sport (on 19" wheels), Bridgestone Potenza RE 970 and, within the last couple of weeks, Hakkapeliitta R2 snows. Any and all are vastly superior to the Continentals.
The NG 9-5 non HiPerStrut suspension came in for lots of criticism from auto journalists at the time of its introduction. My guess is that some fine tuning was left undone on the Turbo4 and Turbo6 (non-Aero) models. CAR magazine, in their long-term road test of a 9-5 TurboDiesel, said that some changes were forthcoming on the 2012 model year cars to address the harshness of the ride. Saab died before that happened.
