I wish like hell Saab would hurry up and give us a difinitive picture of the "NG9-3" so I can make up my mind what I am going to do as far a buying a car. I have been posting here for some time and while I have had the pleasure of driving a few Saabs it has come to the point where I now have a sizeable downpayment to put on the car I have been drooling over -in its many guises- since I was 18 years old. It has come down to these four choices:
1) A second hand 9-5 2.3l sedan ( this option in the lead at the moment )
2) the NG9-3 to be released in 2___?
and dare I say
3) the 2001 Merc C240
4) 2002 Audi A4 to be released next summer
Why no current 9-3? To be honest with you they dont offer decent value for money. Here in Canada they cost $35000 before you even start on the options I want such as leather interior and a slab of wood on the dash, you are looking at close to $38000 which is way to close to the cost of a base C240 with all its safety features, resale value and drop dead gorgeous looks at $40000 with a few cows stitched into the interior. Not that I dont like the shape of the 9-3, I love it as it harks back to the days of old. And when you can get a 99 2.3l 9-5 for close on $32000 which IMHO is a far superior car you can see my dilemma.
If I could get my hands on a OG900 SPG Id take that in a second but they get snapped up pretty quick around here. In fact I saw one the other day that was in sad shape, it nearly broke my heart!!!
So if someone at Saab is reading this can they please, please at least show us all whats on offer for 2___ as far as the 9-3 goes before I run off with another beauty.
