It was the inside driver's door handle; just busted off when I went to open it. The ride is superior to the Jetta, no question, but the Jetta was overall better equipped; but that only allowed the dealership to blame it's sophistication for all the relay switches which were continually going out; like I was being punished for buying the top 0' the line. The Time for Service message was going on; I was told that the vehicle had not been reset the last time it had been serviced and so was automatically coming on; the problem was that it should have come on "automatically" almost a thousand miles sooner as it warned me of the 5K mi check at 5600 miles! Also, the more people at the dealership I asked, the more different explainations I got. The tech finally told me that it was best just to disconnect that function so it would not malfunction in the future. No flood possible (I think) since I live in Albuquerque, and the dealership got it new. You hit the nail on the head; car gets returned w/o the tech checking to see that the problems were corrected completely. I've learned not to drive out the door after having multiple trips back the next day after they've closed up shop. My biggest gripe is that the dealership seems to feel that since they're quick to provide buyers of their nicest models w/ demos; the inconvenience is virtually nil. But, I end up driving a bottom of the line Jetta and schlepping my stuff back and forth car to car. Being a woman, I also get the placation treatment and sometimes even I know that the info I'm getting is bull. If it all were fixed and ran, I'd feel like I got a good deal as the asking price was well below book. But, that's a fantasy I've yet to realize. PS: adding insult to injury, was promised 2 months ago that parking lot scratches would be retouched as part of my deal. The guy came finally came by my work, did a poor job and told me to call him if I wasn't satisfied because HE felt it wasn't his best work. I left him a message and he's never called me back.
