I really do not feel the full potential of the HOT is realized with snow on the roads coupled to 15 inch snow tires, so I use mid grade (89)instead of premium . Once the temps pretty much stay above 40 F, I upgrade my fuel(and put on the 205/50/16 wheel-tires).
Secondly, without the drain of the A/C in winter, the car still has a lot of power-even with the midgrade.
When snow/snow storms are forecast for 4 -7 straight days, I even consider 87 fuel. At zero/below zero temps 87 is really to start v 92/93.
The typical life of NGK copper plugs in a Saab turbo is about 15K max. The gap widens too much and/or they lose an edge, and begin to misfire causing reduced performance, and eventually a check engine light in extreme cases. Harder diving will yield less miles--Easy driving will give slightly more.
