I had a 2000 Honda Civic EX for about six months before I sold it and bought the Saab 93SE.
The thermostat got stuck while driving on the highway (I have no idea how that could of happen, but it did) and my engine overheated.
The head gasket was blown and just about everything above and below it was shot. All the seals were fried and cylinder head was screwed. It took them a good week to repair the car and it never really felt the same afterwards.
The repair job was at least 3 grand on my ex-car and thats not counting all the other visits afterwards.
I also had gaseous fumes inside the cabin of the car after the repair that they couldn't diagnose, went to the dealer 3 times for it, replaced punctured radiator, shampoo engined and still wouldn't go away. It was the most annoying smell and felt like I was breathing in all the exhaust fumes.
