Window Chip/Crack on Viggen

My baby is hurt! Friday afternoon a decent size rock hit my windshield directly in my line of sight on the driver's side on my 1999 Viggen. It put a nickel-sized chip backed with a small crack.
Has anyone ever gotten a window replaced in their Saab? I was wondering, as I know there is some kind of process now where they can repair some minor chips/cracks using some form of filler material.
In Kentucky, if your windshield gets cracked and you have comprehensive insurance, then you pay no deductible for windshield replacement, so it is not going to cost me a cent either way I go - repair or replacement. So what would anyone else do?
I think replacement would be the best- but I guess there is a chance that anytime that you replace something on your vehicle, that it won't be as "perfect" as it once was.
Does anyone know about the repair service? Is it any good?
thanks,
Rob Catron
