The problem is heat. You need cool air induction, not a cone filter which can pull in hot air. You need a low restriction exhaust. You need to rework the throttle body transition casting. The air box needs to be modified as well, add the 33-2663 K&N filter. These things will help lower air temperatures at the throttle body. This would probably allow higher sustained boost. But, staying on boost for a long time is probably asking for trouble. The ECU may simply be downgrading the performance when it sees the higher temperatures at the air sensor. There may not have been any knock issues at all. But either way, it is probably a temperature issue. The intercooler is also getting heat soaked, but it should be effective at those air speeds.
Consider synthetic oil as well if you are going to push the engine that hard.
