I used mostly Castrol Syntech for over 100000 miles in my 95SET. After getting the rear seal replaced, I switched to Mobil 1. I really do feel that the engine runs much better. Yes, it sounds strange... And always 10W30.
I prefer the Purolator Pure One filter.
Then there was an early snow storm in 1975, and I came out from work and found my 1974 Norton Commando 750 covered with snow. And I had Castrol straight 50 weight racing oil in it. I did, after a long time, manage to get it started. Kick start only on those machines. Boy, was I ever exhausted! Never mind driving in the snow, I got caught on it by an ice storm, during a 120 mile trip. Managed not to slide or crash. Now the wife on the back of the bike was not impressed at all. She was the scary part! We were following a truck that just started to go sideways into the ditch. Wife gets upset, and starts pounding my leg as hard as she can. Well I don't have that byke any more, don't have that wife either :)
