Paul,
I went shopping for a 5-speed 2001 Saab 93SE in November and finally took the plunge for a Steel Gray in December 2000.
What really sold me was the styling and feeling of being different on the road. Trust me, when you came from a Honda Civic, you don't feel unique one bit. Also the 0.9% financing was a bonus.
However don't expect the ridiculous incentives that our counterparts in the US have. Our incentives are nil due to the low financing available, the US financing is really high (>7.0%) so that makes up the difference over the long run.
Although the maintenance schedule is 16k, treat your car better and bring it in every 8k. I'm due for one sometime next month. Also if you are buying a turbo car, you should load it with premium gas.
Tried only two places in Toronto, Downtown SSI and Midtown SSI. Trust me, Downtown is much much better. Negotiations went smoother.
So far so good and very happy with the car. The highway drive, which I spend 90% of the time, is super.
