Funny that you were doing this too... I have a 2000 9-3 SE with the normal stock (definitely NOT for winter weather) tires. I had alot of fun myself and I also noticed that thump you are talking about. The sound doesn't occur while the handbrake is lifted but rather after it has already been lifted up. Though I must say this sound was only present 1 time i went out and it was seemingly gone the next. Would like to hear some more info on this if available...
