Hello All,

I'm a newbie to your forums, but spend WAY to much time on AudiWorld, so please bear with me. I did search through the forums, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I'm doing some research for my mother, who owns a 2000 93 SE Conv. She has been complaining of massive body roll during lane changes, highway corners, and clover leafs. On a recent trip to see her, I drove the car myself and it is VERY loose. If you are driving down the road and just turn the steering wheel side to side, the body rolls a ton. On highway on/off-ramps you have to be really careful when accelerating because the car feels like it's going to carry you right out of the corner when the body rolls. If you don't setup perfectly for the corner the body unloads and rolls and you feel like you'll loose the car. Now I'm coming from Audis ( just traded a 98 A4 Avant in for a 01 S4 Avant ), but the body roll seems excesive to me.

She's brought the car into Saab and they ( the dealership, technitions, and Saab of America ) have told her the car is exactly the way it should be. Honestly this frightens me. They have suggested upgrading to the Viggen shocks. I drove a Viggen Conv last night. The straight line handling is much improved, but there is still a lot of roll. I'd say the Viggen is about halfway between my S4 and my moms 9-3 SE. After driving the Viggen, I don't think the proposed change will fix the problem, it might help, but won't fix it.

So, here's what I'm looking for ( thanks for staying with me if you've come this far :-):

What shocks are on the 2000 93 SE Conv?
What shocks are on the 00/01 Viggen Conv?

What is the size of the front/rear swaybar on the 2000 93 SE Conv?
What is the size of the front/rear swaybar on the 00/01 Viggen Conv?

What springs are on the 2000 93 SE Conv and what are the spring rates?
What springs are on the 2000 00/01 Viggen and what are the spring rates?

I know this is technical stuff, but I'm assuming one of you enthusiasts might know this. With that said, do you think swapping shocks, springs, and sway bars to the Viggen equipement will fix/help the situation? OR, would you go all out and put aftermarket parts on? I've read some good things about Konis and Abbott parts in your forums. However, at the same time it is disheartening to have to drop $$$ on a $46K car that you thought had a sport suspension.

So, if you've made it this far...THANKS. I'm really interested to hear what you have to say.

Thanks,
Rick
