Although I really like my '01 Saab 93SE a lot and would not trade it for any car on the market today, there are a few shorting comings, even when compared to my '00 Honda Civic.
1. The first thing has got to be the handling. At fast (highway) speeds, I find it jumps around quite a bit and commands attention. I could fall asleep on the highway and the Civic would still be driving straight. City driving is fine until you stopped the gas peddle and the turbo kicks in, just make sure you hold the steering wheel. I don't have a problem handling it but feel that the attention paid to it while driving is high.
2. Even with the SE, the suspension is rather rough, seriously no noticeable improvement over my old Civic.
3. The headlights just has to go. The length and width of the focus are so weak and the highbeams are not any better. Also I don't like the single fog light at the back, makes people think I have a burnt out brake light.
4. Ergonomics are terrible, useless cupholder and orientation of glovebox.
This is definitely a quarky car! But like I said, I wouldn't trade it for anything else. The big list for the positives like styling, turbo rush outshines the negative.
