Congratulations! Your third; our second.
We too got the base model except that it came 'tricked out' with Pilots on 15 inch (special) rims. The dealer called it a "spring edition" as opposed to an SE. I have all the gizmos you have and an automatic tranny for the Missus :-( Black ones are more easily mistaken for SEs as the black underprotection fits with the paint.
The first thing I had to do, planning forward, was to get rims and Alpins as the Pilots are simply summer tires. Tire Rack beat all our dealers by a few hundred. (Michelin gave us a wonderful freebeekit with the deal but it took a long time to get around the seemingly US-only offer they had forgotten about in the wording of the ad.)
The only add-on I put on is a $2.00 convex glue-on mini-mirror on the drivers' side to check neck strain and eliminate the blind spot.
I'm not sure they cured it yet. Probably so; but the the ONLY trouble we've had with this car is the dumb temperature rheostat on the heater control. Made of shoddy, weak material, the Missus snapped it off. I had known about it from these boards and was taking it easy on the thing. Worst part was, even knowing they had a design flaw, the bean-counters refused to alllow the Saab people to stock these knobbies in Toronto and the Sweden back-order took weeks and weeks.
Had I realized how poor the front spkrs were, I would have bargained a little harder but I did get a free SAAB baseball cap.
I'm using a wash-shine-wax combo product line from a private manufacturer who runs this biz "Victoria Wax Products" as a sideline. He's a concours Porsche man and you KNOW what those guys are like. This stuff is marvellous and practically swirl-free. You may want to give Ernie Kowal an email and ask him for the spiel. thekowals@home.com (I have no financial interest in this product.)
