You need a Tech II to "marry" the ECU to the car ONLY if you have a 9-3 or 9-5... The '94 to '98 900's do not have this requirement.
And no, there is NO WAY to work around it without the Tech II... (And as you probably know, you even have to marry the CD changer to the 9-3!)
