It is not like all that has to be done is change the front panel.Motors have to be installed where there are currently cables, shafts. Information from the ACC is recieved/sent to the MIU and other devices in the car..trionic to increse engine rpm when the a/c kicks in. In other words you will not get the ACC system retrofitted into the car. Besides the problem is inside the drum which distributes the air to different areas. The drum either needs to be lubed or replaced. The problem was that the old grease, instead of lubricating would actually gum up and cause binding of the drum. The excessive force needed to rotate the drum causes either the knobs or the shaft to break, whichever is weakest at the time.I would encourage you to calmly speak with the service guy express you concerns and tell them that if they need the car for a couple days to replace the housing that you are willing to do that.It is a fairly big job to replace the housing so you may not get it back in 1 day.
