I picked up my 9-3 Base w/ everything on Thursday night. We weren't supposed to pick it up until Friday night, but due to the snowstorm and the problems I had w/ my car, having to take a 1/2 day to do loan papers etc. on Thursday, we decided to pick it up a day early. Got the car, and all is *very* nice and the experience was very nice. We reminded the dealer that we were waiting for an SE, but since they couldn't find any on the East coast in a reasonable time that we were happy enough with the Base.
21 hours and 33 minutes later I get a phone call from another dealer (and before I was to pick up my car on Friday) I had been having do vehicle searches - turns out they had a transport truck right in front of their dealership with *two* SE's, both in the colors that I was considering. Doh! So now I have a 43 mile old Base Saab that I want to give back, but no one wants it. There is no "Right of Recision" on vehicles, and my stealership doesn't want to hear my Saab(sob) story - says they did their best and it is not their fault that SaabUSA/Regional reps don't know what is in port/on the delivery trucks. Oh well. I was pissed, but now I am not.
We have sufficiently justified it, a day later, that the SE just was not meant to be, and someone or something wanted things to work out this way. Oh well, I can also say that we are very happy with the car, but just a little disappointed we didn't get the car we really wanted - but we just had to get rid of the Passat. Call it Buyer's Remorse amplified a little bit I guess.
Anyway, we love the car. It drives very nicely, and seems to want to accelerate without much input from me - they tell me that for everyday, non-WOT that the Base drives as good or better than the SE (we live in Mid-Connecticut where there are lots of potholes).
