Hi,
Well turbocharged cars truly are a marvel when it comes to enhancing performance quick and quite cheap.
I have a 1997 9000 Aero, that I bought a little over a year ago. I was, at first, convinced I'd keep it completely stock... Well, what can I say...you get used to the power.
It now has a 3" exhaust from turbo and back, free-flow catalyst on it's way (straight thru for the moment), modified airbox, K&N and of course a reprogrammed ECU. Got lucky and found one made by an engineer at Saab... Future mods are Bilsteins, upgraded bushings and engine mounts. Also had to get a reinforced Sachs pressure plate as the clutch was slipping.
Haven't driven the card hard without slipping clutch, but I have clocked 100-150 kph in 3 rd at 4,7 secs (with slipping clutch). Power should be around 270 hp.
I love it! Have thought about a Viggen, but decided I like the comfort of my 9000 too much... Not to mention the seats...
Good luck with your Aeros!
/ Karl
