The seat's heat control is more than a simple on-off switch. There is obviously a temperature regulator built into the element which cycles it on/off as needed. The rolling switch in the 9-5 is more than a simple potentiometer and I'm assuming that it controls a variable power supply at the heater element stage.
For these reasons I'm using conjecture that it would not be as simple as just replacing the switch mechanism. I'd be happy to be proven wrong by someone with access to technical manuals.
