I don't fully understand the logic...

Earlier today, I had a whole long reply typed up, but I lost it as Saabnet temporarily went down. Anyway, I don't feel like retyping it right now, so I'll summarize.
When I figured out the total costs for leasing two Saabs (back-to-back, total 6 years) at current lease deals and just buying one and financing it for 6 years at something like 9% APR, it seemed to me that your claims about leasing being the better deal were inaccurate. If you bought the car for $23k (way over TMV), put down $3k and financed the rest, payments would be about $360 and in the end you'd end up spending a total of $26k. With the lease, you end up spending more like $29k, according to Saab USA. At the end of the 6 years, the guy who leased two Saabs has nothing while the guy who bought has a car that's still worth about $5k, low-ball. How's that a better deal for the leasee? I guess it's better if you want to change cars every three years and always look cool in your brand new Saab, but other than that? Plus, licencing and insurance would be higher for the leasee as he'd always be paying new car premiums.
Perhaps I'm making calculation mistakes?
