The 1999's have some head torque problems. You may be able to get Saab to pick up this one. There are not any head retorque techniques on this BB, but we have been trying to get some info on that.
The DI screws are sloppy. I suggest some loctite blue on the threads, and don't overtighten them.
Is the head gasket joint leak just a stain, or a flow. Perhaps it has been retorqued already. Any way to get the service history.
Look for other posts on this subject. You will find that there is a specific head bolt that is under tighenend. This sounds like a automated torquing machine at the factory that went bad. Lack of process control and lack of quality assurance. This is something that can happen when technology is used to try to remove the human factors to get high consistancy. You can consistanly get things wrong.
There are also folks who have stories about the heads being retorqued at the port of entry. I don't know if that is an urban legend or something from way back in time.
