Why do Saab seem to have such a problem with depreciation in the US?
Here in Canada Saab seems to hold up quite well and in the UK the
9-5 and base 9-3 hold there value better than an Audi(which has always had a hard time of it in the UK) and match BMW in some cases. I dont agree that a Saab is overpriced at all, its all down to the way Saab is marketed. Saab needs to enhance its image as a fast, sporty, well built car(where is that Sonnett sports car!!!!) and should stop trying to compare them to Gripen jet fighters coz Im sure people dont care that Saab cars has its origins in the aerospace industry. Another point, Audi was almost wiped out of the USA in the late 80s because of supposed run-away cars but they came back. BIG TIME!!!! I think, in the case of the 9-3, the quality does not really match that of other quality European cars which may be fixed once the new 9-3 is released, somewhat belatedly, in late 2002.
