Clutch intermittent and pedal vibrates while driving.

Hi all, I'm new to 2000 saab 9-3, and I have a problem that has been progressively getting worse to the point that it will not shift, it won't go into gear with engine running. I first noticed the problem that when engaging the clutch, it would depend on how far I pressed the pedal in. Sometimes I had to push the pedal all the way in, sometimes only half way to get it to work, and sometimes it worked perfectly normal. Eventually, this got worse and started making noises when trying to select a gear. Well today, I noticed vibrations on the pedal whenever I went to shift, accompanied with difficulty engaging any gear. Finally it came to not going into any gear at all, so I pulled off the road and tried to get it to work. No such luck, but about 15 minutes later, I was able to shift it into any gear. I did nothing to make this happen. So I continue on my trip, only to have the vibrating pedal and the no gear selectable problem again. Now, it's broke, I'm unable to get it into any gear at all while engine is running. I'm stuck! What could cause this? Clutch? Gearbox? Any suggestions to get the car moving or is it tow truck time? Thanks
