Hey, thanks both for your detailed replies. It's a European-market car.
So as long as you say sensor 1 is upstream of the cat it seems all clear.

However on my car its on the downpipe, just upstream of the cat facing upwards. So nowhere near the spark plugs (like you said), which is what has been confusing all along.

Then I guess its just a weird Euro vs. US difference?
