regarding the axle, leaks are the least of my worries. It's the damn wobble that troubles me. And the classic 900 had a bearing to cradle the driver. Not perfect, but certainly better than the OG9/3.

Performed a new test this morning. Tried to start as normal with no go. So I hooked up a jump to a second vehicle, no go. Installed new vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, tested that it held vacuum, and no go. Disconnected battery jumpers and added a touch of ether, started right up. Besides the Burmada Triangle that has been my 9/3's tangle of CELs, starting problems, other anomolies since new, it has consistently made quite a black cloud when under full throttle at low speeds, say 30-50. It also has been an oil hog since new. The dealer performed the 1500 mile check and oil change. At 2500 miles it was down 3 qts. She goes through one qt every 500 miles. And no blue smoke. Is this normal? My classic 900 with 450,000 original miles went trough one qt every 3,000 miles.
