This is kind of a shot in the dark, but I just took apart my A/C pulley because it had been wobbling and rattling. I have parts to replace the bearing and clutch, but while removing the old bearing I found that the pulley itself was actually cracked! At least three of the 'spokes' are cracked right through, to the point where you can flex it by hand. Maybe this is why some people have replaced the bearing and clutch but still had problems down the j road.
Anyway, I'm wondering if someone has a junked compressor, parts car or knows a good junkyard where I might find a good pulley. I'm in Maine for the weekend (Portland), but if I can't fix it tomorrow I'll put the short belt back on and return to Boston.
Thanks for reading!
