when you change your oil...I was once told to pour a 1/2 to a full quart of new oil thru a the motor and just let it pour out. It's a minor waste but the clean fresh oil picks up any remaining debrise and flushes it out. I'll buy a cheap no frills quart of oil and let it run thru the engine.
