I have had the bad CPS symptoms- wouldn't restart when the engine was hot, etc. And the CEL did not come on right away, but I did get the CEL after a few days. See if you can have a place with a good code reader see if they can fund any "pending codes"- codes which have not yet activated the CEL. My Accutron scanner has displayed some pending codes several times, before the CEL.
