you can buy an inexpensive hand riveter for this job ($10 from places like Summit Racing, Performance Tool p/n WMR-W2017C). I think the new motor+lift mechanism kit comes with the necessary rivets. As I remember, the hard part was drilling out the old rivets (WIS says to use a 8.5mm drill bit, then a 4 mm drift to knock out the remaining piece) without damaging the metal support bars that are part of the door--- if you mess that up, then you won't have a stable place to mount the new mechanism to. Once the rivets were out, it was pretty easy to slide in the new unit and use the hand rivet tool to fasten everything. You can substitute generic nuts and bolts for the rivets, but that only makes sense if you plan on having to get in there again to replace everything a second time.
