When you're discussing vacuum lines what lines do you mean? Are you referring to the hard lines with the built in check valves? Or the rubber hoses? We just replaced the engine on my daughters 2000. She ran out of oil. Looked like there was leak off the back of the engine. The replacement engine started leaking right away out of the infamous timing cover/HG location. We had used the original hard lines. Went back and checked those lines and found one of the check valves leaking. Replaced that hard line and the oil leak is gone. Didn't notice any drivability before or after.
