My 01,Viggen ,100,000 miles ,owned by me for 15 years , in great shape ,daily driver was hit today and I was told by my mechanic and a body shop that most likely it will be totaled by the insurance company.The other driver left the scene. Rear door and quarter panel smashed (but not so bad)and rear wheel is a little crooked. The damage doesn't seem worse than what I think the car is worth but I know the insurance companies say the cars are not worth what we think the cars are worth.
Does anyone have any advice for dealing with insurance companies in getting them to pay what it takes to fix or just getting them to pay more so it's a little easier to fix ? I have not contacted the insurance company yet for fear of saying something wrong.Thanks
