I’ve been experiencing some amazingly loud creaks and squeaks coming from the front end. Searching the forum yields numerous posts about this peculiar Saab phenomena. The generally accepted culprit being the sway bar bushings and that it becomes more apparent in colder weather. The thing that puzzles me is I seem to have the opposite situation. They don’t creak at all in the cool morning, but coming home in the afternoon when it’s warmer is when they are quite obnoxious.
I’ve tried hosing them down with silicon spray (3 times now) but that seems to have no effect. I had new front struts installed in the course of replacing one of the front axle/bearings immediately after I bought the car so it seems unlikely that they would be making much noise.
I am going to start spraying the silicone on various other rubber bits and see if I can pinpoint the trouble.
