I have contradicting thoughts:
1. The Viggen is rare enough that if you want one, you kinda gotta wait or take what the market offers. I'm *sure* another one will appear at some point, but if you want one now... I wouldn't *inherently* reject a salvage title vehicle as titles can get branded for dumb reasons, but it does merit a close inspection.
2. I think no matter how you slice it, you're staring at a minimum of six to eight hours in labor, plus whatever parts you need/want to replace... I think reasonably speaking, a grand a minimum. So, $6500 for a salvage title Viggen? I wouldn't... but I wouldn't pay $6500 for a Viggen period. I'm not that enamored of them.
One thing that occurs to me, is that I am pretty sure all transverse Saabs are constant engagement TOBs, so the old "it rattles when disengaged" phenomenon you could explain away on older cars does not apply. The only thing that could be making noise is the actual clutch (disc or PP) or something inside the transmission. I think I'm safe saying it's not the TOB, for sure.
