new CV tops are NLA fr Saab there are folks who claim they make one just as good? - got a sample fr BAS International S Wales UK says they can do a new top for about $400 identical to OEM! ( I need one ! ) My local indie Saab god says when they had new tops done at an upholstery shop ! it would cost like $2K and up and then a glass man would come in and install the back window ! and MANY CV top parts, like the mechanism which bends sometimes ( mine did ), are just about, or are NLA too! I am going to buy a new one NOS fr someone if possible and fit oil impregnated bronze bushings and/or small bearings wherever possible for less friction! It will be a permanent fix! lots of top weather stripping is now NLA - maybe someone can reproduce it? I'm looking to buy a new or good used pump and lines for repair- if needed, many Saab parts are now getting to be NLA! I'm going to pay the upholstery shop to teach me how to do a top replacement! ( just so I
am skilled at it ! ) - then I'll do them. guys who have done it say it is not too difficult really .............................. as to 303 I know some really like it I put it on mine and it got so stiff the top did not want to work! ( never heard of this issue fr anyone else ! Weird! I had to help it fold for weeks! - the cover would not close ! a part of the top stuck up! Now it works ok ! - and does look good ! my UK friends say use Renovo or Fabsil ( what they use) and they have serious issues w/ rain and park the poor things outside a lot ! - no garage ! regards neil
