2002 9-3 oil leak solved Posted by JeffR [Email] (#2860) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JeffR) on Fri, 2 Nov 2018 06:35:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I bought a 2002 9-3 in near-new shape with black leather interior with “turbo” written on the seats. Everything has been fixed and replaced meticulously by the former 1 owner.their mechanic showed me the list of thousands of dollars of repairs, including head gasket and new turbo.
I bought it knowing it had some oil seepage from the throttle body area dripping onto the exhaust. The mechanic said it just needed to be driven to blow out the excess oil left over from the turbo when it had blown.
Turns out the throttle body was not tightened down!
I was ready to order an O ring kit for it, but now my work is done!
It does idle at about 900 rpm. Isn’t that a little high?
How do I slow it down?
Should I disconnect the battery for a while and let the computer fix this?
Thanks in advance, Jeff
