The shifter is far from precise. The car mags call it a bit "sloppy" and they're right. I adjusted it "by the book", but it didn't help much.
Don't get me wrong, I REALLY like my Saab. The shifter is probably the only thing I'd change (except for more power, of course - one can never have enough).
The clutch isn't bad at all, but the hydraulic (post - 97) is easier to adjust and keep in adjustment (and has none of the oft-reported cable problems). I don't find the clutch stiff, but I was raised on muscle cars & competition clutches.
