I used Redline MTL after a brief period of using 10w-30 for 1 month. This was in the summer though.
Replacing the fluid is easy. However, it did require some creativity to drain the existing fluid. If you have the Haynes manual it covers how to do this. If you don't have it, I would suggest getting it. It isn't the greatest resource, but it has helped me keep the car going so far.
Based on the amount of strength required break the plug free a locking compound was used on the threads. First I removed the filler and fluid level plugs. That way I knew I could refill the tranny after I drained it, VERY IMPORTANT! Next I used a socket allen wrench (8mm, I think) with a box end wrench attached to the allen wrench part (a picture of this set-up is in the Haynes manual). The front subframe is in the way of using the socket in a conventional manner. Then I used a Big F&*^&%$ wrench to add leverage to the smaller wrench attached to the allen socket to break the drain plug free( clear as mud isn't it).
After the fluid drains, re-install the drain plug and level check plug. Get a long reach funnel and fill with 2qts of fluid. Then open the fluid level plug and let the excess drain off. Then re-install fluid level and filler plugs.
