I sort of had an idea that may be it, but I wasn't sure as I've never had a Saab before, and I've only had this one a few months. The lite squeking sound does seem to be coming from up around the cam shaft area, and from what I can tell it looks like the famed idler pulley is the little tension pulley up top...
I ran my finger along the grooved side of the belt, and I got black dust on my fingers... not sure if this is normal, but I know on my RX-7 even when the V-belts were shot, they never had "dust" on them...
so, how do I take care of this pulley? I have an extended warranty from Saab, so I am pretty sure it will be covered...
can I still take my chances and drive the car for a day or two?
How much time before the pulley self destructs?
Can I drive the car a few more miles?
