There is a difference between Americans and every other country out there, we drive ALOT more. We also work more (on average anyway). People work IN their cars here, more often than anywhere else. Also because we work more, we often eat breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner in our cars. In most countries food in the car is not only uncommon, it is discouraged. There was a big thing in the early '90's where Mitsubishi had to recall thousands of cars because of failing seat belts. The reason the belts failed was Americans are so damn messy in their cars and the Japanese engineers failed to plan for it, so crap that fell into the recievers and caused the belts to unlock under stress. The point of all this being, American cars are built for Americans, while other cars are built for other cultures, thats why european cars have fewer cupholders.
