I have a '95 SET that I bought nearly two years and 24k miles ago (70k now). It was still under warranty when I got it, and I added an extended warranty on top of that. Since I bought it I've put about $150/month into maintenance on it, the factory warranty covered another $600, and the ext. warranty has paid for about $900 worth of work on top of that.
On the other hand, Dean, among others, has had very little in the way of repair work on his '95 SET.
I really like the car, I just wish it were a bit more reliable. I bought a Saab because of their reputation for longevity, but at this point I'm not sure if I'd get another one. I may, because there isn't much else available with the same combination of performance, size and price. If I were to replace it with another Saab, I'd look at a '98 SET or a '99/'00 Viggen.
On the other hand, with the right shop manuals, and this board, you can do a lot of the maintenance work yourself. I do most of the mechanical stuff myself.
