NGK BCPR6ES-11 is correct... Posted by REM in Seattle [Email] (#4) [Profile/Gallery] (more from REM in Seattle) on Fri, 19 Jan 2001 11:40:05 In Reply to: spark plugs 6,7,or 8??, justin, Fri, 19 Jan 2001 11:13:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Assuming you have a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder turbo engine. The NGK BCPR6ES-11 seems to work for most folk here. Of course, set gap to 1mm (.039") and torque to 20 ft-lb. Always 'read' our last set of plugs. Black sooty deposits mean the plugs are too cold (like mine were when running BCPR7ES-11), light tan deposits mean just right (like mine using BCPR6ES-11), and too hot produces glassy deposits and melting of the electrode (very bad don't want to ever see this).
As far as the DI cassette screws, I just apply some anti-seize to the threads and hand tighten and then tohten a quarter turn more. As I am 6'1" and weigh 220 lb. I'd say that is about 15 ft-lb. So far none have stripped or come loose.
