I went with Swedish Dynamics springs for a couple of reasons. First, they are advertised as stiff or stiffer than Abbott springs. Second, price (half the price of Abbott and about the same as B&G, Eibach). They lowered the front about 0.75 inches and the rear about 2 inches. It kind of looks a little different, but the wheel arches are at the same height from the ground (FWIW). You can get pads from the dealer to rise the rear if you desire.

As to the increase in stiffness. I would say the ride is better, smoother above 50 mph. Sure the ride is stiffer, but it wasn't like getting into a race car. Based on my calculations the front are about 20-25% stiffer the rears are like 50% stiffer ( the rear springs only have about 2 coils free). Now the car tracks nearly neutral and the rear body roll is MUCH reduced.

As for shocks, I went with Koni. I would change the dampers at the same time as the springs, due to having to disassemble the front suspension to get to the dampers. Plus, stiffer springs WILL wear out your dampers faster. If you have more than 50k miles on your dampers, their performance has degraded significantly already.

If you get 17" wheels, they will stiffen up the ride more than the springs (IMHO). I have another car that has 17 wheels with 40 series tires. It turns in great, but the ride is definitely firm. Also, if I remember correctly, New Hampshire and Vermont have unfinished roads. That would not be good for 17" wheels. They could get bent very easily. I went with 205/55R15 tires and am very happy with them. 16" wheels would probably be the largest I would go with if the roads you travel are less then pristine.
