what noises? Mine may be headed there, too. Posted by MJM [Email] (#872) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MJM) on Fri, 26 Jan 2001 08:45:52 In Reply to: Strut Mount DIY?, Bryce, Thu, 25 Jan 2001 17:58:35 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just had my struts replaced last June, and at the time, the service manager said that my strut mounts, etc were fine. A few months later I noticed a slight clunk up front when I turned the steering wheel or drove over small bumps/cracks with the left front wheel. Another trip to the dealer, but they couldn't find anything wrong. As the weather has gotten colder, the noise has been more persistent, but it does come and go.
Then early this last week the noise got more intense, it's now a solid metallic thunk over LF bumps or with large body motions (the cars, not mine). What did your strut mount failure sound like?
I'd been hoping to upgrade the TCA bushing to Abbott ones, now I'm afraid I may have to put that money towards this repair.
thanks,
Mike
