Just read this BB and keep reading.
Watch for bent alloy wheels. Don't assume that its only a balance job that is required. If it runs smooth between 50 and 60 mph, you are in good shape.
You inspection really needs to be done by a mechanic that knows Saabs. Make sure the power seats, windows and A/C work. Check performance of all 5 washer jets. Make sure the headlight wipers work. Test the key activated locks and alarm system. There should be two alarm key fobs, an owners manual, and a blue plactic card with the radio code.
Check to see if the battery electrolyte is low. The maintenance free batteries are not.
Check the bell housing drain dimple for oil leaks.
Make sure all lights work. The fog lamp bulbs are a real pain to replace. So don't drive around with them on.
Have the drive belt ispected and the idler wheels. After this amount of time, they could be at end of life.
Check that inboard rear brake pads are free to move and not rust bound in the caliper slots.
Warm up then engine and do full throttle in 3rd gear. The boost should go to the start of the red line and stay there through higher RPMs.
Brake firmly. The steering wheel and vehicle should not shake or pull to one side.
