Changing a 900S to a 900 Trubo Posted by Rob [Email] (#1828) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Rob) on Thu, 1 Feb 2001 08:28:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 1998 900s that I truly love. It is a basic S with a 5 speed and a couple of worthwhile options such a sunroof and CD changer and wood-dash. I love this car and have put many (129K) enjoyable miles on it in the few years that I have owned it. I feel positive connectivity with this vehicle. It has yet to let me down. The car drives much the same as when I first bought it. I really don’t want to buy anther car right now because I really like this one but, I would like to get a little more oomph out of it. I am considering having my (very capable) mechanic install a new motor. More specifically a 2.0 turbo. Beyond the cost (which is substantially lower than a new car) and upgrading the brakes and wheels are there any other issues I should be concerned about before doing this? I know some of you will tell me just keep the car the way it is. That is all well and good. I just want to know what to anticipate should I decide to put this motor in my car. Thanks Rob
