I'd be careful with this one... When buying a Saab from a non-Saab dealer it's always best to have it inspected first by someone who knows something about these cars (an independent Saab mechanic or a dealer). This should cost you somewhere between $50 and $100 (money well spent).
Sometimes the reason why this car might be at a non-Saab dealer is because it is a REAL LEMON and any honest dealer wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole. I'm not trying to scare you off but the Chevy dealer isn't gonna help you fix any problems... They might only make it worse!
As for the "check engine" light, that can be something as simple as a loose gas cap (I'm not kidding), a bad oxygen sensor, bad engine temp sensor, bad spark plugs, or something else even more serious. The ONLY way to find out what it is and to eliminate any serious problems is to take it someplace that has a Saab "Tech II" diagnostic computer... This will read the check engine code which should point to the cause of the problem.
Good luck
