Have a Saab mechanic look at it for sure! Be very careful, see if there are any service records with the drivers manual. Be sure it hasn't been wrecked, too. I notice tons of little things about used cars, like: How many owners? Check the service records; #of dealer badges on the car. How hard was it driven? Hit the memory button on the power seats and see if a woman drove it, women are generally less likely to jump on that turbo as often--unless of course a small, crazy man drove it. See if it was sold and driven in NYC or LA so you have some idea of the traffic it's been in. I got a '96 900 SE turbo that was one female owner from Souix Falls S. Dakota. This car had mostly highway miles on it because that's all there is out there. Chances are my car is in good shape (knock on wood!) You'll love your Saab no matter what, but you'll love it more if it is in the shop less often. Sorry about the long message.
