5w40 is not light. 5w-15 is light. Alot of cars come with 5w-30 from the factory. A simple way of seeing oil weight is that the first number means how it behaves when cold and the second number means how it protects when hot. IMO, 5w-30 is fine. It runs freely when cold and offers adequate protection when hot. I wanted to use 5w-40 but couldnt find it in Mobil Synthetic. Might try Motul.
