Oil Pressure Warning light

I have a 94 900S. 123,000k.
Three or four times over the last month and a half my oil pressure light has turned on. It happens only after driving for 20-30 minutes on the highway, but it doesn't happen every time. Typically, it will come on while driving on city streets immediately after I exit the highway, and then the "you're doing catastrophic damage" exclamation point comes on.
If I turn the car off and restart, the light goes away for a few minutes, then returns. After the car cools off completely, the problem disappears for several days or weeks. The oil level has always been fine. I've ended up driving for ~50 miles total with the light on and there doesn't seem to have been any damage, which suggests an electronic problem to me.
As a side note, and possible contributing factor, I've had a persistent check engine light for several weeks. My indie checked the usual culprits, but hasn't been able to figure it out, so it's going to the dealer on Friday.
Does it sound like a bad sensor, a computer problem, or something else?
