You might hear some people say bad things about the V6. However, these people typically don't own one...
I have owned one for 6 months now, and LOVE it! It is smooth when warm, doesen't use up too much gas, and I have not had any problems with it. Also, it's maintenance history does not show any problems with the engine. The timing belt has been changed twice so far, both times at the cost of Saab, at a Saab dealership.
The only little issue is that sometimes the Traction Control System shuts itself off after an hour of freeway driving. The only way to reactivate it is to turn off the engine and restart.
The automatic transmission shifts with some delay when cold, but is very smooth after one to two minutes of driving.
It also depends on what you compare the car to. It is more complex than a Chevy, but compared to my other car - a 928 Porsche - it's way better made and doesn't need nearly as much attention (and money)...
Hope this helps...
